Bank and Currency Exchange
Banks are open from 09:00 to 16:00 on weekdays with late hours until 18:00 on Thursdays (closed Saturdays and Sundays). There are numerous cash machines and curry exchange offices located across the city, for example at the central train station.

For lunch and dinner, there are various cafès and restaurants located close to the Gasteig. You can find our restaurant suggestions in the pocket program. Also, at the Gasteig conference center, there will be food stations where you can purchase a small snack or lunch.

Climate and Dress Code
In August, the average temperature in Munich is approx. 23 °C.

Credit Card
In Munich, major credit cards are widely accepted at hotels, stores, cafes and restaurants. Some places might charge a fee when accepting foreign credit cards as payment. However, a few restaurants may only accept cash.

Currency
The national currency in Germany is EURO (€). The registration fees have to be paid in EURO. Exchange rates: 1 EURO (€) = 1,18 USD ($) / 1 EURO (€) = 0,91 GBP (£) (date: 21.08.17).

Free WiFi is available at the venue for all participants. Please make sure to read the terms and conditions for WiFi access carefully.

The official language for the conference is English.

Name Badge and Congress Bag Pick up
Please pick up your name badge and vouchers on site at the Registration Desk in the Gasteig during the opening hours. The Registration Desk is open on Sunday, 27 August from 12:00 noon onwards. We strongly recommend that you pick up your name badge early in order to avoid lines at the registration desks. Without a name badge, you will not be able to enter the lecture halls.

Along with your name badge, you will receive a voucher for the WATOC 2017 congress bag. You can redeem this voucher at the congress bag counter located next to the registration desk.
You will also receive vouchers for the WiFi network, free drinks at the welcome reception and the poster sessions, and –if you registered for these events– the conference dinner and the excursions.

Parking
Due to the restoration of the Gasteig Parking Garage from July 3rd until mid-October 2017 entry will only be possible via Kellerstraße. The entry at Rosenheimer Straße will be completely closed during this period. During this time only a small amount of the original parking spaces will be available. Please also use alternative parking garages (e.g. Hilton Munich City) or public transportation.

Pocket Program
The pocket program is available for download here. The congress bag, which you will receive on site, also includes a printed version of the pocket program.

The organizers cannot assume liability for any changes in the program due to external unforeseen circumstances.

Public Transportation
Your travel within Munich is not included in your ticket price. Public transportation is the easiest way to get around Munich. Click here to find out more about public transportation and ticket options. If you have booked tickets for the excursions taking place on Wednesday, 30 August 2017, you will need a public transportation ticket*. Please make sure to purchase a ticket before the tour.

*except for the Starnberger See Tour. A bus will pick you up for this tour.

Shopping
Super markets and retail stores in Munich are usually open from 09:00/09:30 until 20:00 on weekdays and Saturdays. On Sundays, super markets and retail stores are closed.

Smoking Policy
Smoking is not allowed at the venue; the meeting is a non-smoking event.

Wardrobe
Larger items such as suitcases will not be allowed in the lecture halls. These items need to be checked at the wardrobe, which will be located below the entrance foyer. The wardrobe will be supervised during the congress opening hours.
